Witaj w kolejnym artykule z serii angielski od podstaw. W dzisiejszej lekcji opiszemy miasto, w którym żyjemy. Poznaj podstawowe słówka związane z miejscami, które najczęściej odwiedzamy w miejskiej dżungli wysokich budynków i ruchliwych ulic. Do tego celu wykorzystamy znaną Ci już konstrukcję there is, there are, która opisuje położenie różnych przedmiotów lub miejsc. Poznałeś ją w poprzednim wpisie This Is My Flat (opis pokoju i mieszkania).
Wykorzystaj do tego celu konstrukcję there is / isn’t.
We don’t have a / an …………… in the place where I live – nie mamy …. w miejscu, w którym żyję.
SŁOWNICTWO
Przeczytaj teraz opis miasta po angielsku. Zwróć uwagę na słówka z powyższej listy oraz wyraźny podział na akapity. Anglicy uwielbiają przejrzysty układ tekstu i ciekawe słownictwo. Czy podoba Ci się Warszawa?
I live in the capital of Poland. Warsaw is located on the Vistula River and it has a population of 1.7 million people. It’s a beautiful city which is famous for its museums, art galleries, theatres, cinemas and shopping centres. Warsaw is one of the most important commercial and cultural centres in Europe and a popular tourist destination.
If you visit my city, you must walk the streets of the Old Town. There are small cafes and restaurants where you can order traditional Polish dishes. The highest building in my city is the Palace of Culture and Science which offers a great panoramic view of the city. When my foreign friends come to Warsaw, I sometimes take them to the Warsaw Rising Museum, the National Museum or the Copernicus Science Centre.
What’s more, I live in a new neighbourhood. It’s great for walking around because there is a park where I spend my free time. In my area there is a swimming pool, a police station, a post office and an old church. I don’t like the fact that there isn’t any theatre or art gallery here. Anyway, I think you must visit Warsaw. There are a lot of other attractions. Come and see for yourself!

I’ve lived in Jarosław since I was born. It’s small town which is located on the San River. Jarosław is a old town full of beautiful monuments, especially many old churches. I have lived in Warsaw for seven years. When I was a child I use to live in Radom. It is a beautiful city, one hundred kilometers south of Poland’s capital. Radom is located on the Mleczna River and has a population of 0.2 million people. It is not one of the most popular city in Poland and there are not a lot of exiting views, but Radom is famous for its culture and history.
If you visit my city, you have to see market square. It’s very beautiful place for walk. The Zermonskiego Street is the most beautiful street in Radom. There are a lots cafes, restaurants, cinemas and theaters. You can meet there a lot of interesting people. I also should visit Muzeum Wsi Radomskiej Museum.
If you like dance, you can go to a club in the evening. There are a lot of night clubs. If you don’t like dance, you can take a walk around. There are a lot of parks when you can spend your free time \.
